Top 10 wedding ceremony photos
Weddings are back! I can’t wait to shoot my first one of what will be my busiest wedding season EVER! Here’s a selection of my personal top 10 wedding ceremony photos, so far anyway (including a couple of lockdown weddings too). I’ve written a little bit about the story behind each wedding photo too

Juliette & Ben
You just can’t beat the beaming smiling happiness as Juliette and Ben hold hands. I like that the bridesmaids are in soft focus in the background too. This was taken at my first wedding and it’s still one of my faves! You can view more photos from their gorgeous wedding ceremony HERE.
Tom & Jess
One from my last lockdown wedding of 2020. I framed the Bride and Groom using the neck of the guitar to draw attention to them. I love the look they’re giving each other right there and then.
I’m often looking for the frame within the frame and it’s a little part of my photography style.
It nicely lent itself to a B&W because there wasn’t much colour in sight so it looked cleaner in B&W. I don’t do many edits this way but sometimes a moment just calls for it.
Pete & Hannah
Moments before Hannah walked down the aisle, she linked arms with her Dad and their eyes connect for one last time. It’s like they are privately saying ‘goodbye’. It fills me up every time. Even though its not quite strictly a wedding ceremony photo because it was taken about one min before, it still deserves a place in my top 10 wedding ceremony photo list.
I framed Hannah between her bridesmaids and I like that they’re having a laugh, but Hannah is oblivious to them. The photo was featured in Your Perfect Wedding Photographers best of ‘emotional moments’ too. You can check it out HERE
Emily & Angus
Many Grooms break out the tissues but this one is my favourite one because the bride is completely unaware. Emily and her Dad are busy looking at the vicar while Angus cheekily wipes those tears away before anyone notices – gold!
Mim & Graeme
I love how Mim is smiling and looking down at their hands that have been bound together. The pews on the left of the frame were used to create a leading line that draws you in.
Jacob & Miki
One from my first lockdown wedding in Oxford. Jacob and Miki got all their wedding preparations done in under 2 months! Even though only a handful of guests could attend, 300 people tuned in via ZOOM from all around the work. I could feel the love in the room to the point where is didn’t feel empty, it was an incredible experience!

Charlie & Tom
One final kiss on the check. It’s always one of the more emotional photos for me, especially as a father of one daughter because one day I might be lucky enough to do this myself! You can view more from their quickly DIY wedding HERE
Lizzie & Steve
Lizzie and Steve’s wedding ceremony was all set to go ahead outdoors. Then, at the last min everything was turned around inside the marquee because it was lashing it down. Not that you would know it by their faces!

Charlie & Jane
All eyes on the Bride. I love how everyone’s head is turned to face the bride as she walks down the aisle with her Dad but Jane and Charlie’s eyes are firmly fixed on each other. I framed the Bride using the Groom’s shoulders for a tight composition.

Hollie & Mike
The way that Hollie’s head is turned to face her guests is like she’s saying ‘hey, look I’m actually doing this!’ I love the big fat grin on Mikes face too! You can view their full wedding HERE
So there you have it, my top 10 wedding ceremony photos (so far that is!). I can’t wait to get back to photographing all the happy happy days that are coming up in my busiest wedding season EVER! My first wedding of the year is only one week away now 🙂
