10 Questions You Might Like to Ask Your Wedding Photographer
You’ve booked a ZOOM call with me – AWESOME, I can’t wait to chat!
From our time together I want to listen and understand 1) what you are looking forward to most about your wedding and 2) what the most important things are for you on your wedding day.
This helps me to picture myself at your wedding to see how my hands-off approach to shooting fits with how you want to remember your wedding. You’ll feel relaxed because all you need to do is talk about yourself and you won’t have to worry about what to say.
After speaking to me, one of the things my couples often say is ‘You made us feel excited about our wedding!’.

How do we secure our date?
A deposit of £500 is required to secure your wedding date and this comes off of your balance. Once this is done, I’m yours and you’ve just booked one of This is Reportage’s Top 10 wedding photographers in the world
Anyone else who enquires about your date will feel gutted.
What happens after we book?
Once your deposit is paid, all the good stuff starts!
You’ll get access to your portal where we’ll keep all our wedding photography stuff in one place to make ‘wedmin’ way easier for you.
In the months before your wedding, you’ll receive tips from me that will help you make the most of your wedding photography coverage like how to get your groups shots done quickly and tips for confetti. I will also be there to help you any way I can, whether that’s by making supplier recommendations or anything you need help with!
One month from your wedding, you’ll receive a planning questionnaire and one week before, we’ll run through your final plans together on Zoom.
We feel awkward being photographed – help!
You want photos of the two of you together looking pretty, but the last thing you want is to feel awkward on your wedding day by being jammed into loads of poses.
For couples’ portraits, I’ll only ask you to do things that you’d normally do together. You’ll hold hands and go for a short walk around the grounds of your venue. I like to keep everything simple.
Plus, on your wedding day you’re going to be SO love-struck that you won’t be able to resist smiling, feeling good and looking A-mazing.

How long will we be away from our guests for photos?
You want to have the best day of your life and for you that means spending as much time as possible having good times with the people you love the most.
I’m not the kind of photographer that will take you away from your guests for a ridiculously long photo-shoot and leave all your guests hanging around!
I’ll capture relaxed portraits of you during your day in 10 mins tops so you can get back to the party.
Do we have to ‘feed’ you?
The short answer is no because I’m not an animal. Seriously though, if you want to provide me with food, I’ll never say no! But, please don’t feel like you have to 🙂
How do you approach group shots?
Group shots are a must at most weddings, how often is it that you get the whole family together after all? I just don’t feature them on my website because they are not hugely exciting for most couples to view.
I suggest keeping them to a minimum. Have between 6-8 groups and keep them small and informal so you can get back to the party and I can get back to capturing all those cool, genuine and spontaneous moments that you are going to love!

What happens if you are sick on our wedding day?
I’ll never leave you without a good photographer for your wedding if the worst happens.
I’m a member of the emergency photography cover group and through it, I’ll find a photographer that has a style that complements mine and they will act as my ‘associate photographer’.
My associate will shoot your wedding in my place, but I will edit all the photos in my signature style so your photos will have the same vibrant look that you were originally drawn to.
Do you travel for weddings?
I’m a wedding photographer who’s based in Nottingham but I travel throughout the UK for cracking weddings. If you wedding is more than a 2 our drive from me, I charge a small fee for accommodation for the night before your wedding.
How will our photos be delivered?
Your photos will be delivered via an easy to use online gallery. From the gallery, you can download all the final edited photos from your wedding in high resolution. Plus, the online gallery makes it so easy to share your photos with your guests.
You are then free to make your own prints, but there is always the option to purchase prints if you like straight from your gallery.

Have you shot at our venue before?
I’ve shot over 120 weddings across the UK and many of those have been first time visits. I love shooting at new venues, it often means I need to do a bit more planning behind the scenes that’s all, but it won’t stop me from producing exceptional photographs from your wedding.
In fact many of the photography awards that I have won have come from shooting at a venue for the first time. You are in safe hands.
