DIY touches, a Derbyshire farm venue and a sailcloth marquee wedding, what more could you ask for? Well, a couple of wedding photography awards, actually, haha. This award-winning wedding was filled with mad summer weather, from torrential rain, belting wind and beaming sunshine. Yet nothing could dampen the vibes of this couple’s stunning back garden wedding day, filled with their nearest and dearest.
The day started with high spirits and positivity, even though the rain poured, and I mean poured down! It was clear from the outset that this couple and their family and friends were going to do everything physically possible to make sure their marquee wedding was a success. With brollies at the ready, it was all hands on deck, preparing for this relaxed wedding on the family farm.
Guests sheltered from the rain as the bridal party awaited in anticipation, and, as the rain started to clear it was all systems go for an outdoor wedding. The sun came out just in time for Rosie and her bridesmaids to walk down the aisle.
Rosie was a picture of elegance in her classic off-the-shoulder satin ballgown. Rob, in his traditional three-piece suit, matched perfectly. He brought cool vibes with his sunglasses for the ceremony, a celebratory and fitting nod to the sun arriving, and the relaxed atmosphere of this beautiful wedding. The bridesmaids, in sage green satin gowns, and the groomsmen were out in force to support the couple and watch them celebrate their love for one another, and as they said their I dos, it was smiles all around.
With garden activities, a fitting horsebox drinks van and some fun and games with the destructive wind, the couple and their guests enjoyed some outdoor wedding celebrations before heading in to enjoy their wedding breakfast in the luxe-decorated marquee. Food was aplenty with rustic grazing boards, and the speeches provided loads of laughs, happy tears and some group participation. It was a room most definitely filled with love.
The evening provided just as much entertainment. With a quick change from the bride into a flapper-style dress with boots (the perfect farm look), a live Saxophonist who owned the dancefloor and a round of evening pizza, this family farm wedding day was complete!

Full of personal touches, Rosie and Rob’s day felt like home. The back garden wedding venue, the DIY touches, and the amazing sailcloth marquee were what made it special, and what made it theirs. The weather was an additional surprise, and working with it, not against it, provided the most epic wedding photography that told this couple’s love story perfectly. I got to experience it all at Rosie and Rob’s day, from torrential rain and heavy winds to beaming sunshine and… it was perfect! Perfect enough to have won awards from Photographers Keeping it Real and NineDots, too!
