This year, I have entered the Wedding Industry Awards.
It’s the only competition in the industry that is based on feedback from brides and grooms.
I’m thrilled to announce that I have made the Regional Finals!
A huge thank you to all my couples who voted for me and helped me reach this next stage, and thanks to everyone who has trusted me over the years to photograph weddings in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire and further afield.
As part of the awards, I was required to answer questions related to my business and select just 10 photos to support my entry. I thought I’d share the 10 photos that I selected with you here to show you because they showcase my style, which centres around capturing the quirks of a wedding.
Key characteristics of something ‘quirky’ (thanks, Google):
Unusual: It stands out or doesn’t quite fit in with the norm.
Interesting or Appealing: The peculiarity is often seen as positive, endearing, or charming.
Unpredictable: The behaviour or nature is not what one would typically expect.
Original: It can indicate something unique and creative.

As a side note, I might move to Scotland next year.
There are 20 finalists in the East Midlands this year, vs 9 finalists in Scotland. The population of each ‘region’ is similar (5 million vs 5.5 million).
Discuss 🤣
Cheers, Nathan
PS Couples feedback from the awards has just been released and I’ve put them in the blog HERE
