The Wedding Industry Awards are the only awards in the wedding industry that are based almost exclusively on feedback from real couples.
This year, I made the Regional Finals for the East Midlands and was awarded Runner-Up for Best Wedding Photographer in the East Midlands.
As part of the awards process, only couples I’d worked with in the last 12 months were invited to vote for me, and they were also asked to leave feedback on my judging profile. All of this feedback was kept completely anonymous and hidden from me until the competition had finished.
Now that the awards are over, I can finally share some of the incredibly kind words couples have said about working with me.
Below, you’ll find the full transcripts of their feedback. I hope this gives you a real flavour of what it’s like to have me photograph your wedding — from the experience on the day to the images I deliver afterwards.

Nathan was incredible from start to finish.
His candid photography perfectly captured the joy of our summer wedding at Shottle Hall.
He not only preserved the big moments we cherished but also the small, fleeting details that would have otherwise missed.
His calm presence, special agent-style stealth, totally unique point of view, and eye for narrative gave us timeless photos we’ll treasure forever.
He is truly outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer and presence on our day.

We absolutely loved having Nathan photograph our wedding, and the pictures really captured the vibe of our day.
As a wheelchair user, I am super self-conscious, but Nathan really helped me to relax, and his ‘stealthy ninja skills’ meant that he was able to capture special moments from our wedding without me being worried about posing.
These ‘skills’ and his natural style helped capture our guests enjoying our day in moments we were completely unaware of. We couldn’t recommend Nathan highly enough.

Communication was excellent, and we received our wedding photos within 3/4 weeks. And of course, we loved our photos.

Nathan was approachable, friendly and gave us an impression of a positive presence, which made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and we could be ourselves on the wedding day when having our photographs taken.
Overall, both us and our guests love the outcome of the photos as they captured our day authentically, which is what we wanted, as we like to look back at them and be reminded of the atmosphere and how we felt.

The meetings before the wedding gave us peace of mind on how the day was going to pan out. The admin was straightforward and minimal.
There were no surprises; everyone knew what they had to do, which meant minimal time spent on static photos and more time for Nathan to do his magic. It’s been nearly 6 months since we got married, and the photos still bring back the memories of a wonderful day.
Our guests’ ages ranged from 8 months to 83, and Nathan’s photos captured the inter-generational love.
