If you’re a Nottingham wedding photographer you love the Pumping House. It’s just a great local venue. A relaxed wedding day with their loved ones; this beautiful wedding at The Pumping House, Nottinghamshire saw lovable face pulling, confetti madness, and a couple whose love shone through.
Hannah and Tim’s day started in the luxury apartments of the venue where I captured the getting-ready shenanigans which were full of laughter and fun for both the bride and groom and their wedding parties. A bit of horror was thrown in too, for me a least, because I saw the biggest spider that I’ve ever seen at a wedding and no one even flinched, but I was screaming on the inside.
Situated on the edge of Sherwood Forest, The Pumping House not only offers a beautiful wedding space but luxury accommodation too in the form of The Pumping House Quarters. This historic and alternative Nottingham wedding venue which of course was an original pumping house opened in 1905. An important part of Ollerton’s history, it now stands as a beautifully proud wedding venue. From the eclectic charm it brings, it’s clear why this couple chose to get married here.
The Ollerton room was chosen as their ceremony space. With unique parquet flooring, original paned windows and a tranquil backdrop it was perfect. This made photographing a wedding at the Pumping House a unique experience. With a sea of beautiful blue hues, the bride and groom and their wedding party wowed the guests. The bride wore an intricately beaded dress with delicate and floaty sleeves. Her bridesmaids were in beautiful, pleated pastel blue maxi dresses which matched the summer season. The groom and his groomsmen wore a mixture of patterned and plain classic suits in a deep blue that fit the blue hue wedding theme to perfection. The looks were brought together with stunning pastel bouquets and buttonholes. They said their “I dos” within a room so very clearly filled with love.

If you’re a couple that isn’t wanting loads of formal shots, 15 minutes is all you need to capture those cherished moments after you’ve said your vows. I’m a Pumping House wedding photographer that’s more about the people than the posing, so making sure that I capture those candid shots is always a must!
The highlight for me from this wedding was capturing the bride’s grandma stuffing confetti down her granddaughter’s dress. It’s off-the-cuff moments like this that make my job a delight. It was clear they shared a very special bond and shared the same sense of humour too!
Mini golf provided the perfect entertainment and definitely built up an appetite for the wedding breakfast. Some healthy competition was evident, and it brought a laid-back vibe to the afternoon for the bride and groom and their guests. With one long trestle table that stood proud in the centre of The Pumping House, all the guests tucked into their rustic wedding breakfast made from locally sourced produce. With the speeches dispersed throughout the relaxed atmosphere continued.
After dinner, it was the traditional cutting of the cake, the first dance, and then dancing the night away with the live band. It was also time for me to rest my feet and my lens after another picture-perfect wedding day.
The Pumping House brings an industrial yet relaxed vibe and was perfect for this couple.
