Oliva got ready at her family’s home. I love it when that happens because the vibes are amazing when the family are gathered somewhere familiar (no pun intended) before the ceremony. You even get the opportunity to photograph the Bride’s Dad in his underpants…
Meeting Olivia’s grandmother was one of my personal highlights of this wedding. She was in her 90s, and she was such a character. Oliva had told me that she has a special bond with her, so I tried to document as much of her as possible. Like capturing her playing around with crisps and entertaining her great-grandson.
You could say that photos of Olivia’s grandmother tell her own story. This is one of the things I look for in weddings: stories within the wedding story.
Wedding Photography at Whatton House
Their wedding ceremony was held in a small tipi before celebrations continued over the extensive grounds at Whatton House and Gardens. This is one of the reasons that photographing weddings at Whatton House is so much fun- the wedding venue offers a lot of variety in locations, which is great for couple’s time.
I can’t wait to be back taking more wedding photos at Whatton House next summer, it’s one of my favourite venues as a Leicestershire wedding photographer.
