Meghan and Jonny had a bright and colourful wedding that celebrated their love of travel. It’s like something out of a romance novel’ said one of Meghan’s American bridesmaids and I think that perfectly sums up the vibe of this gorgeous wedding venue.
Wedding Ceremony at Doddington Hall
The Long Gallery set the scene for their wedding ceremony and unconventionally it was not decorated. They wanted to let the room speak for itself, being elaborate with many huge paintings trimmed with gold.
As a nod to American tradition, the groomsmen and bridesmaids stood at the front during the wedding ceremony which is a little unusual for UK weddings.
Coach House Wedding Reception
Meghan and Jonny loved that the Coach house with its high ceilings provided a blanc canvas for their Doddington Hall wedding reception.
Decor referenced Meghan and Jonny’s extensive travels together as well as Japan (where they got engaged), with many personal touches.
It’s not often that you want to talk about the table plan but theirs was extraordinarily cool! It was made from suspended origami cranes, each crafted from a unique and vibrant paper. How cool is that?
The reception also featured a record number of speeches – everyone had something to say about this fab couple!

Doddington Hall is one of the most beautiful Elizabethan houses in the country.
Still privately owned and lived in, it has never been sold since it was built in 1595 and it is a truly EPIC venue with a romantic atmosphere.
They have several licensed sites: The Coach House, The Coach House Walled Garden and The Long Gallery so you can get married inside or outside.
