Wedding photography at Beaumont Hall
Emily and Jonny booked me to take their wedding photos at Beaumont Hall, just outside St Albans. It’s a spectacular tip wedding venue, and it feels very secluded.
My day started in the bridal suite, which was very spacious and filled with natural light, making it a very flattering environment to work in, before Emily and Jonny got married in Emily’s parents’ church in St Albans.
The taxi that was supposed to pick the Grooms family up was late, and because I needed to be at the church in good time, too, I became a makeshift taxi driver. Getting back to Beaumont Hall wasn’t an issue however because Emily and Jonny had organised a Lond bus to transport everyone. It was great to hop onto the bus and take some photos from the top deck. I can rarely find decent elevation to get some interesting scene-setting photos. It was also the second wedding of the season where someone fainted from heat stroke.
On to Beaumont Hall, guests filled the lawn outside the farmhouse where drinks were served before making their way through an archway opening up onto a second lawned area which housed the tipi. Before guests headed to the tipi for the wedding breakfast, we took formal family photos in front of the grade 2 list farmhouse because it provided a lovely backdrop for this. After the conclusion of the speeches, guests could entertain themselves with garden games before the band got the evening party underway.
I entered 20 photos from my Beaumont Hall wedding into a photography competition. Inspiration photographers have what’s called a collection award, whereby a series of photos are judged as a whole by other wedding photographers. I was thrilled to have won a collection award from this wedding.
About Beaumont Hall
Beaumont Hall is an outdoor events venue and a family-run business. Situated just 9 miles from the M25, J21A and 3 miles from the M1, J9 it is easily accessible from the north and south and parking space is available for up to 100 cars.
On-site is the Beaumont Hall itself, a beautifully presented Georgian, Grade II farmhouse providing a beautiful backdrop for weddings. The house and grounds are secluded, and the venue works in partnership with Country Tipis, who provide the wedding tipi. You can have it set up however you choose. Beaumont Hall’s tipis can accommodate 150 seated guests and up to 200 standing.
They also work with a fantastic caterer who can help you craft your menu to deliver the experience that you want, from canapés to sharing platters or a more formal meal. Beaumont Hall has several drinks packages available, plus paid bar facilities. With a 3-tipi set-up, there’s a corkage option which allows you to service everything yourself.
Wedding Ceremonies at Beaumont Hall
Beaumont Hall is not licensed for legal ceremonies however, many couples choose to get legally married first and then have a blessing or non-traditional ceremony onsite. Or, like Emily and Jonny, you could choose to wed in a church before hosting your wedding reception at Beaumont Hall.
